Over 1 crore women to receive next Subhadra instalment on August 28
Bhubaneswar, Aug 17: More than one crore women beneficiaries of Odisha government’s flagship Subhadra Yojana will receive the next instalment of financial assistance on August 28, coinciding with Raksha Purnima, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida announced on Monday.
The disbursement will be made during a state-level programme scheduled to be held in Nayagarh, she said.
Parida stated that women who submitted their applications by August 28 and meet the prescribed eligibility criteria will be considered for the benefit. Eligible beneficiaries from the earlier lists who have pending instalments may also receive multiple instalments together, subject to verification.
According to the latest data, 1,15,75,633 applications have been registered under the scheme so far, including 3,17,966 fresh applications received during the 2026-27 financial year.
Following verification, 1,02,04,396 women were initially identified as potential beneficiaries for the fifth instalment. However, district administrations subsequently verified the deaths of 5,277 beneficiaries, following which their names were removed from the list.
After the revision, the final number of beneficiaries eligible for the fifth instalment stands at 1,01,99,119 women.
The Subhadra scheme provides financial assistance directly to eligible women through their bank accounts. So far, the government has transferred more than Rs 12,064.86 crore through four instalments to over one crore women beneficiaries.
The upcoming disbursement is expected to provide further financial support to women across the state and strengthen the government’s women-centric welfare initiatives.
