Simlipal National Park in Odisha reopens to visitors on October 14

Bhubaneswar, Oct 9: Simlipal National Park, located in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district, is set to welcome visitors once again on October 14, following a closure of nearly five months during the monsoon season.
Traditionally, the park reopens to tourists in November each year. However, this year, authorities have decided to open its gates a bit earlier in October.
Visitors can immerse themselves in the park's abundant greenery, diverse wildlife, picturesque meadows, and stunning waterfalls. Additionally, tourists have the opportunity to engage in activities such as mountain cycling, jungle safaris, and traversing a hanging bridge.
Access to the park is available through two entrances, one at Kaliani and the other at Pithabata. The park's visiting hours are from 6 am to 9 am, and guests must depart from Barehipani and Jaranda by 3 pm and from Chahala by 4 pm.
To preserve the park's pristine environment, visitors are prohibited from bringing plastic bags and other non-essential items inside. For those interested in an overnight stay, eco-cottages within the sanctuary can be reserved in advance by visiting www.ecotourodisha.com.
