CM Majhi expresses grief over Ganjam accident, provides financial relief

Bhubaneswar, Aug 22: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has expressed profound grief over the tragic death of five individuals in a road accident near Samarjhola Street in Ganjam district. He extended his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and announced immediate relief measures.
The Chief Minister has directed that a compensation of Rs 2 lakh be provided to the next of kin of each deceased person. Additionally, Rs 1 lakh will be given to those who were seriously injured in the accident. The state government will also cover the full cost of medical treatment for all injured individuals.
Biju Janata Dal (BJD) leader and former Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik also conveyed his sorrow over the incident. In a statement on his X (formerly Twitter) account, Patnaik expressed, “I am deeply saddened by the loss of lives in the tank-bus accident at Berhampur’s Samarjhola Street. I pray for the recovery of the injured and the souls of the departed. My heartfelt condolences to the grieving families.”
