Odisha Vigilance uncovers disproportionate assets linked to Principal Sudarshan Behera

Bhubaneswar, Nov 9: The Odisha Vigilance Department has made significant strides in tracing properties worth crores, including 28 plots in prime areas of Bhubaneswar, Gop, Pipili, and Satyabadi in Puri district. These assets have been linked to Professor (Dr) Sudarshan Behera, the Principal of Government Ayurvedic College and Hospital in Bolangir.
On Thursday, the Vigilance conducted raids at seven locations associated with Behera. The focus was on unearthing assets that appeared disproportionate to his known sources of income. These raids were carried out based on search warrants issued by the Court of Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar.
The investigation has revealed several valuable assets, including a residential building situated in Sakhigopal, a double-storeyed building located in Sriramchandrapur, another building in Sorisiapada, 28 plots in prime areas of Bhubaneswar, Gop, Pipili, and Satyabadi, three four-wheelers, bank deposits and various household articles with an estimated value of approximately Rs 19 lakh.
Additionally, the Vigilance team is scrutinizing postal, insurance, and other deposits. Professor Behera is currently under examination to determine the source of these assets. Further investigations are ongoing, and it is anticipated that more assets will be uncovered, potentially increasing the overall valuation.
