Bhubaneswar, Nov 4: Odisha Vigilance on Saturday arrested Arjun Kumar Sahoo, Assistant Executive Engineer, Rural Works Division, Salipur, Cuttack district for possession of disproportionate assets.

Based on searches conducted on properties of Sahoo, he was found in possession of disproportionate assets including two buildings (one multi storeyed building worth approx RS.1crore in Bhubaneswar), 21 plots, deposits over 70.09 lakhs, gold jewellery weighing approx 218 gms, cash Rs.2.83 lakhs, and 3 four wheelers which he could not account for satisfactorily. Sahoo has been placed under arrest.

Earlier on Friday, simultaneous house searches were conducted at eight locations in Khordha, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, and Kendrapara , all connected to Sahoo. The operation was carried out by Vigilance sleuths led by 8 Deputy Superintendents of Police, 8 Inspectors, 7 Assistant Sub-Inspectors, and other staff. These searches were authorized by search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Bhubaneswar.
