Man beaten to death with iron rod in Bhubaneswar; police launch hunt for accused
Bhubaneswar, June 29: A shocking murder has once again raised concerns over law and order in the state capital after a young man was allegedly beaten to death with an iron rod in the Khandagiri area of Bhubaneswar.
The deceased has been identified as Krushna Chandra Padhy, a resident of Ganjam district. According to preliminary reports, the victim was attacked by unidentified miscreants who allegedly assaulted him repeatedly with an iron rod before fleeing the spot. The brutal attack left him with severe injuries, leading to his death.
After receiving information about the incident, personnel from Khandagiri Police Station rushed to the crime scene and launched an investigation. The area was cordoned off, and police collected forensic evidence and other material clues to aid the probe. The body was later sent for post-mortem examination.
Police have begun questioning local residents and are scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the assailants and trace their movements before and after the crime. Investigators are examining all possible angles, including previous enmity, personal rivalry, financial disputes and other motives behind the murder.
A massive manhunt has been launched to apprehend the accused. Senior police officials said every lead is being thoroughly verified, and efforts are underway to establish the exact sequence of events that led to the killing.
The incident has triggered concern among local residents, while police have assured that the culprits will be brought to justice at the earliest.
