No shortage of crude oil in Odisha, assures Minister Krushna Chandra Patra
Bhubaneswar, Mar 7: Odisha Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra on Saturday reassured citizens that the state has sufficient crude oil supplies and there is no shortage. Addressing concerns triggered by reports of tensions in the Middle East, the minister urged people not to panic or believe misleading information circulating on television channels and social media platforms.
Patra clarified that Odisha continues to receive steady oil supplies and the overall stock position in the state remains stable. “There is enough crude oil available in the state. People should not believe rumours or inaccurate reports being spread on TV or online. Oil imports are continuing, including supplies arriving from Russia, so there is no cause for concern,” he said.
The minister also dismissed claims that long queues have formed at petrol pumps across the state. According to him, such reports are exaggerated and do not reflect the actual situation on the ground.
Patra further stated that the government is closely monitoring the distribution of crude oil and other essential commodities to prevent any irregularities. Authorities are also keeping strict watch on possible black-market activities.
