Based on specific intelligence about the movement of armed maoist cadres for carrying out anti-national & subversive activities, a joint special anti-naxal operation involving teams of SOG, DVF of Odisha Police and BSF, was launched in the general area of Tulsi pahad under Mathili PS limits of Malkangiri district on dt.10.10.2021. While this operation was going on, police parties were fired upon by armed Maoists cadre and hence the police party retaliated in their self-defence. This EOF took place near Jajbhata jungle bordering to C.G under Mathili PS limits between the SOG/DVF Parties & armed Maoist cadres yesterday i.e. on 12.10.2021 at about 5.50 AM. During subsequent search operations conducted till this time, three un-identified dead bodies i.e. two male and one female of armed CPI (Maoist) cadres were recovered from the area. Subsequently, they have been identified as (1) Anil @ Kishor @ Muka Sodi (M) (ACS) S/O-Soma Sodi, Village-Sudhakonda PS-Kalimela, Dist-Malkangiri. Presently he was working as Secretary of Gumma AC under AOBSZC. He was carrying a cash reward of ₹5 Lakh. (2) Sony (F) R/O-Chhattisgarh, presently she was working as ACM of Uday (CCM) protection team under AOBSZC. She was carrying a cash reward of ₹4 Lakh. (3) Chinna Rao (M) PM of Pedabailu AC who was working with Aruna protection team and was carrying a cash reward of ₹1 Lakh. On further search operation, the following arms, ammunitions, explosives and other incriminating articles have also been recovered. It has come to be known that the dead Maoists cadres were involved in nos. of violent incident targeting security forces in the past as well as murder of innocent civilians.
