Father hacks infant son to death over family dispute in Odisha

Rourkela, Oct 12: A man fatally attacked his infant son and injured his wife and two neighbors in a suspected family dispute. This tragic incident took place in the Lunagadha slum of Garjan panchayat, located within the jurisdiction of the Brahmani Tarang police.

The accused, identified as Budheswar Singh, has been apprehended by the police.

Reportedly, in a fit of rage, Budheswar used an axe to fatally harm his one-and-a-half-year-old son and assaulted his wife during a dispute within the family. Two neighbors, Laki Kumbhar and Ghasi Kisan, also suffered severe injuries and were subsequently admitted to Rourkela Government Hospital.

Upon receiving the information, the police swiftly arrived at the scene, secured the infant's body for autopsy, and confiscated the weapon used in the heinous act. Further investigation into this distressing incident is currently underway.
