Odisha develops digital platform to boost implementation of PMAY-U 2.0

Bhubaneswar, April 15: In a significant move to strengthen urban housing initiatives, the Odisha government has begun developing a dedicated digital platform for the effective execution of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban 2.0 (PMAY-U 2.0). The web-based system will serve as a comprehensive tool to manage planning, application tracking, monitoring, and grievance redressal for beneficiaries.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi confirmed the initiative through a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Tuesday, highlighting the government’s commitment to transparency and efficiency in delivering housing benefits.
Reports indicate that the application process is already underway, with thousands of citizens applying for assistance under the scheme. The proposed portal is expected to simplify the entire workflow—from submission to approval—while enabling real-time feedback and status updates for applicants.
The Central Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee (CSMC) has approved the construction of over 3.52 lakh houses, including in Odisha, under the Beneficiary-Led Construction (BLC) and Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP) models.
The Odisha Urban Housing Mission (OUHM) has also prepared an operational manual to ensure uniform implementation. The scheme targets EWS households (income below ₹3 lakh) and LIG households (income between ₹3–6 lakh) in all statutory towns, based on the 2011 Census data.
