Fake DSP arrested in Bhubaneswar for cheating job seekers

Bhubaneswar, March 24: Police arrested a man on Monday for impersonating a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and deceiving people. The accused, Manas Ranjan Senapati, a resident of Basudebpur in Bhadrak district, had been living in Madhusudan Nagar under the Kharavela Nagar police station in Bhubaneswar. He allegedly posed as a DSP to cheat job seekers and extort money from unsuspecting victims.
During the raid, police recovered several fake documents and items from his possession, including a forged police uniform, an appointment letter, a fake DSP identity card, Rs 2 lakh in counterfeit notes, a car, a laptop, and a mobile phone. Reports suggest that Senapati used his fake credentials to gain people’s trust and lure them into financial traps.
His arrest was made during a night blockade by Sahid Nagar Police, who grew suspicious of his activities. Authorities have launched a thorough investigation to determine the full scope of his fraudulent operations and identify potential victims of his scam.
