Flower show at Ekamra Kanan extended by a day amid huge visitor turnout

Bhubaneswar, Jan 11: The Odisha government has extended the state-level annual flower exhibition at Ekamra Kanan, Bhubaneswar, by one day, following an overwhelming response from visitors. The event, initially scheduled to end on January 11, will now conclude on January 12, announced Forest, Environment, and Climate Change Minister Ganesh Ram Singkhuntia.
The flower show, inaugurated by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on January 7, is jointly organized by the Regional Plant Resources Centre (RPRC) and the Plant Lovers’ Association. This year’s event showcases 70 vibrant stalls representing various agencies from across Odisha, featuring over 500 varieties of flowers. Highlights include roses, marigolds, dahlias, zinnias, ferns, and ornamental plants.
The extension reflects the exhibition's popularity as thousands of visitors thronged the venue to witness the stunning floral displays. The event has become a platform to celebrate nature’s beauty and horticultural innovation, reinforcing its importance as a cultural attraction in Odisha.
