EXERCISE TO SELECT PCC PRESIDENT STARTS

Bhubaneswar: After a disappointing performance of the Congress in the general elections and the dissolution of all the party's committees in the state, the state Congress is on the move. The Steering Committee meeting was held on Monday at the State Congress Building to elect the President of the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC). After former MPs Charan Das Mahant and Meenakshi Natarajan arrived in Bhubaneswar on Monday, a meeting was held at the state office. All the members of the steering committee were present. The two central leaders were apprised of the political landscape in Odisha by the state leaders. One by one state leaders gave their views on the nomination of PCC president. First, senior leader Narsingh Mishra, former PCC president Niranjan Patnaik, Jaydev Jena and former MLA Mohammad Moquim met them and expressed their opinion.

AICC president Mallikarjun Khadge, former AICC president Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi are aware of Odisha Congress situation. A meeting with senior leaders has been held to collect opinions on how soon the Odisha PCC president can be elected. We have also discussed this with the old leaders. It is hoped that a decision will be taken in this regard soon. Earlier, two central leaders MLAs Ramesh Jena, Sagar Das and Mohammad Moquim were welcomed to the party office in a grand procession. An enrichment program was held at the Congress building. Senior leaders of the party, MLAs and MP candidates were present in it. Bhakta Das said, "We have recommended a qualified and capable leader as the PCC president." Whoever becomes the president, we will all obey him. Mr. Das said that our goal is to strengthen the Congress.
