Odisha Cabinet approves equity transfer of Gopalpur Port to Adani Ports
Bhubaneswar, Sept 12: The Odisha Cabinet on Thursday approved key decisions, including the transfer of equity shares in Gopalpur Ports Ltd (GPL) to Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Limited (APSEZ) and amendments to various recruitment rules.
The Cabinet approved the transfer of 95% of GPL's equity shares, with 56% from Shapoorji Pallonji Port Maintenance Private Limited and 39% from Odisha Stevedores Limited, to APSEZ. The Revised Concession Agreement for GPL's development and expansion was also cleared.
Additionally, the Cabinet approved the Odisha Ex-Agniveers (Recruitment to Uniform Services) Rules, 2024, providing 10% horizontal reservation for ex-Agniveers in Group 'C' and 'D' uniform service posts, including Police, Forest, and Fire departments. This reservation will be above the existing quota for ex-servicemen, provided the applicants meet the required qualifications.
The Odisha Civil Services (RA) Rules, 2020, were also amended to allow compassionate appointment of married daughters and stepdaughters of deceased government servants, subject to proof of dependency.
