Three dead in NH 16 accident involving Bolbom devotees
Bhubaneswar, Aug 3: Three people, including two Bolbom devotees, were killed by a speeding truck near Dimiria village on NH 16 in Khallikote on Saturday.
According to sources, the truck was on its way to Kolkata from Berhampur when it ran over the two Bolbom devotees and a commuter before overturning. The two devotees died on the spot, while the commuter succumbed to injuries at a hospital.
The tragic incident occurred when the truck, carrying goods from Andhra Pradesh to Bhubaneswar, lost control and overturned after hitting the Bolbom devotees and a laborer. The police have seized the truck and detained its driver for interrogation.
One of the Bolbom devotees killed in the mishap has been identified as Ranji Nayak of Banpur, while the identity of the other deceased devotee is yet to be ascertained. The third victim, an elderly local laborer named Banamali Patra, was declared dead at Khallikote Hospital. Remarkably, the truck driver escaped unhurt.
